Safety Plan

A safety plan is a personalized, practical plan that our case management team helps develop with you to identify options and prepare for possible situations where your safety is at risk.

1. Prepare an Emergency Bag

Keep a bag packed with essential items in a safe place or with someone you trust. Include:

  • Important documents (ID, birth certificates, insurance)
  • Medication and prescriptions
  • Cash, credit cards, and bank information
  • Change of clothes
  • Keys (house, car)
  • Important phone numbers

2. Plan Safe Places

Identify where you can go in an emergency:

  • FCVR crisis shelter
  • Local police station
  • Trusted friend or family member's home
  • Public places that are open 24/7

3. Create a Support Network

Identify people you can trust and develop codes or signals to communicate when you need help.
